So yesterday was 10-10-10, the global work party to get to work on the climate change crisis. The photo above is from a gathering of folks working in Bemidji, MN to bring a sustainable future to their city. If you want to have your socks knocked off with inspiring photos of other folks "getting to work" around the globe on 10-10-10, check this out. It's pretty beautiful. Despite some high hopes of mine, Andy and I did not attend an organized event on 10-10-10. However we deliberately worked hard at projects on our little homefront that are meant to get us less reliant on carbon. So we dug another large cold frame bed and will pack it full of greens yet this fall and we shored up the root cellar so that as soon as it cools down around here (ahem), we can pack in all our winter stores. It felt good to be working in the company of so many others determined to bring change.
