so long september

And out goes September already.  Glorious weather, loads of canning, a seventh birthday. 

September you were good to us.  

As Autumn rolls in we find ourselves still in full swing.  The garden yet full of produce to be readied for winter.  Lessons and plays and field trips for learning.  Visits from friends and family.  Busyness at work for me, and extra meetings and responsibilities for Andy.  A look at the calendar shows not an end in sight to the full weeks ahead. 

But as we watch color march across the hills, hear the geese on their wings and feel the nip in the morning air, we know what's coming. 

For now we soak up these moments of perfect weather, and attend to the busyness at hand.  But we breath deep with the prospect of winter.  Yes winter, you quiet lovely one.   Not just yet, but we'll be ready for you when you come.  We're dreaming of you already.
