five

Elsa Mae turned five last week. In ways, it feels like yesterday, as they say.  But in so many ways each year feels full.  Full of so much joy, and love and of course chicken catching.  Her birthday was everything she wanted:  an early visit from Grampy complete with the classic box-within-a-box-within-a-box... gifts.  A quiet birthday morning with just us, gifts from Iris and mama, special birthday book from papa, birthday ring and annual rainbow bridge birthday story. An afternoon filled with friends and nonna-made cake and balloons and running crazy at the park.

This girl, who so loves this world, continues to light ours with her laughter, her spunk, her determination.  She is full of surprises, and smiles and deep curiosity.  She is a sweet friend and sister.  We are so honored to watch her grow.  Happy Birthday sweet Elsa Mae.

We rounded out the Mother's day weekend with some super fun fairy garden planting and a rainbow in the valley.  Can't beat that.  We did so miss our Nina and Poppy.  Looking forward to seeing you guys soon.
