our girl

This girl, so full of spirit and love and silliness turned three years old today. We honored her all weekend with a visit from Nina and Poppy. We had a little party for which Nana baked a chocolate puppy dog cake and a strawberry cake (at the girl's request). There were presents and singing and lots of smiles. Then today we woke up, just the 4 of us, and had birthday pancakes, built a fort downstairs (since it was raining outside), Grampy came and brought a rockin' wheelbarrow (so fitting, for he IS the king of wheelbarrow rides), and we finished out the day with apple-raspberry-strawberry crisp (another request). We'll remember her face lit by candles but glowing with happiness for as long as we live.

Happy third birthday sweet Iris.
