The weather has been mostly so lovely these past few weeks. With the gardens put to bed and other "farm" work winding down, we've been getting out and about more. A walk on the bike trail with homeschooling friends to visit the tunnels and bats that live there. The walk was long, super long and the tunnel cold and drippy, but these kids couldn't have been happier. What an awesome way to spend a Friday afternoon.

And yesterday we got out in the warm late afternoon to harvest cherry bark. Iris was more than happy to help shave it off the small branches with her new birthday knife. It smelled fresh and sweet. We'll dry it for a few weeks and then it will be ready for our wintertime teas and cough syrups.
