it begins

The first Christmas card arrived in the mail on Saturday.   And due to some travel plans in our future, we already have our tree!  My intent was to maybe hold off decorating until a more normal (for us) time, but that was obviously a momentary lapse in sanity.  I was forgetting that a certain three and six year old would be jumping out of their skin with excitement upon it's arrival in our home.  So decorate it we did.  I've held off on the extra special basket of holiday books, that we all so love to read at this time of year.  They'll make their appearance next week along side St. Nicholas.  But we did unpack the now favorite holiday treasure, a gift from our good friend Chuck.  It will get so much love and play this season.

New fabrics have found their way to my little studio space, whispered secrets and lists pile up, sugar and sprinkles are purchased, little ones are already asking if Santa comes tonight.

And so the merriment begins.  Hope the weeks ahead bring for you the simple joys of making merry.
